Millions of people are suffering from chronic disease as a result of exposure to infection such as Lyme, mold, and virus. Additionally, I find many patients with environmental toxins such as chemicals. These patients are susceptible to a multitude of toxicities. We are rapidly entering a new chapter in the history of medicine. In old medicine, most diseases caused acute problems that required hospitalization. Today health care workers and physicians like myself are spending most of our time caring for patients with a chronic illness that lasted for years.
